About Seroquel XR
The quetiapine family is a group of drugs that work by decreasing certain central nervous system functions (e.g. sedation, cognitive impairments, memory, attention, and impulse control). It is classified as a non-benzodiazepine anti-psychotic.
It is not recommended to take Seroquel XR or any of its alternatives in children. It is contraindicated for use in the presence of certain medical conditions (e.g. liver or kidney disease) or in the presence of certain types of overdose. Seroquel XR is not associated with any serious potential side effects. It is not a controlled substance, and it is contraindicated for use in patients with a history of seizures.
